We have two fantastic events scheduled before we take a little break from programming
|
|
| We’ve had an incredible time over the last few weeks with all of the events for Translated By, Bristol. Thanks to everyone who came along!
While it’s been incredibly rewarding, it’s also been a lot of work, so we’re planning to take a little break from events programming throughout July & August.
However, before we do we have two wonderful event opportunities for anyone who needs a last fix of literature and community before the summer takes hold & we also have the latest run of our creative non-fiction writing course with Holly Rigby, starting on Tuesday June 3rd. |
 |
| On Monday 16th June we’ll be pairing two brilliant writers who share similar themes, but deal with them in very different ways.
Gurnaik Johal is an Observer Best New Novelist for 2025, and his book Saraswati is a cross-generational epic dealing with themes of empire, global warming and populism.
Ariel Saramandi’s Portrait of an Island on Fire is a deeply moving collection of essays focusing on Mauritius at a crucial moment in the island’s history, tackling colonialism, racism and patriarchal abuses of power.
More information and tickets are available from Headfirst via the link below, or in the shop. |
| On Thursday 26th June we’ll be back at Boston Tea Party to welcome Rosie Kellett, chef, food writer and creator of The Late Plate. She’ll be talking to Martin Booth about her new collection of recipes In For Dinner.
Follow the link below for more information and to purchase tickets, or pop into the shop. |
| We have three places left on our ever popular creative non-fiction writing course with Holly Rigby, which starts on Tuesday 3rd June and runs for 8 weeks.
